About Circus World Museum
Circus World Museum preserves Wisconsin's circus heritage on the original winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers Circus, documenting the era when Baraboo was the "Circus Capital of the World" in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The site is operated as a division of the Wisconsin Historical Society, and Wisconsin Historical Society members enjoy free admission across its network of historic sites and museums.
Spanning 64 acres on the original winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers, Circus World Museum is home to the world's largest collection of restored historic circus wagons. It also encompasses seven National Historic Landmark structures that more than a century ago served as the wintertime home of the Ringling Bros. Circus and are now filled with thousands of circus treasures. As other forms of entertainment gained popularity, Circus World began documenting and collecting the important artifacts of the American Circus, ranging from original Ringling Circus buildings to the smallest sideshow props.
